Lamaros, I think you misinterpreted what I said. I was sayign to do that, so that the people that do unlock the area for everyone in their region can access it too. As of now, there's no way for them to access the area while holdng the HoH. This would allow them to access that area when they finally do get the time to. This isn't that they get access to a special area that only HoH'ers can get into.
That is not my point. My point is that the "enter the army" game was neither expected nor voluntary.

I was suggesting that making it a quest (perhaps optional with an XP or gold reward) would be more effective. I was also recommending that new players be allowed to do it several times so they can improve. Further, I was suggesting that people who win should move on so they don't sit around owning newbies all day. Perhaps the quest should ask for you to win 3-5 matches (and after that you're not allowed to start the quest again).
New palyer are allowed to improve in pvp its called arena in post serian. This problem is very very minute in the scope of this game. Why are you so worryed about it? Its about 1:30 seconds if you lose, and it takes nothing away from you.
Lots of people are dyslexic (including me). View it as a challenge and practice. Corrections by others can make you better, don't shun them -- act on them.
Yes, I realize that, and I try to make corrections myself thank you. I dont know if you intended it to, but statment really got my blood boiling. I *really* dont like being talked down to.

If they make winning the HoH item decent enough(comparable to the loot found in the tomb), I would have no problem with this. Cause then holding HoH would be just as good as going to this tomb. I also think if they increased the loot this much it should only drop after you have successfully defended HoH.

I think it is a jarring and unwelcome experience, hence my post. This is a tangable example of the broader problem with the Worlds at War philosophy: In order to advance in the game, one is forced into an us-vs-them type situation.

I apologize if you took this as an attack. Can we kindly take this part of the thread to private communication.

Excellent solution for the PvP side.
Since currently you can "buy your way in", I suggest extending that idea. Raise the cost to 10 platinum and allow this "offering" to be made at any time.
This still makes it hard to get in while also placing the control in the player's hands. To keep the PvP connection, maybe there could be a reduced "offering" required when your "Kingdom" wins the HoH.

I also like the "Kingdoms" idea better than the current "Worlds".

I agree with the idea of eliminating the requirement that your region control the HoH to get into the new areas as well. It's quite simply ridiculous, and forces players who might not want to play PvP all the time to do something terribly difficult just so they can open new missions for other players.

Here's an idea: what if there was a timer that counted (in minutes) how long your world has held the HoH in total, and every 12 hours or so it would permanently unlock the next level of a large series of PvE maps? And when another world takes the hall our time would stop going up and theirs would begin, but anyone in our world (including the people who had previously kept the hall) would be able to visit the unlocked areas anytime. If that doesn't work, I'm also a fan of that idea where the winning team gets an item that lets them go to the PvE area anytime.

Default Great!

What a fantastic idea!

I really dont understand why people are so aggressive toward this system.. after all, its GUILD WARS.. its a war between Guilds.. Guilds are teams.. so the game is about MY team verses YOUR team.

This game is specially created for PVP as its own name indicates!! if there were NO benefit to winning against other teams, or competing in tournements then really what would be the point ?

Yes GW has a brilliant coop roleplaying storyline but that really is just a big training zone for your guild to fight in the Halls.

Maybe the rewards you get and the means of getting them need to be agreed but the IDEA and whole point of cometition is to win something, the most rewarding thing a gamer can possibly hope for as a reward (in gaming terms) is privilaged access to new content... fighting and winning to see and experience that content..woo, I cant wait!

The only thing I can see as a reasonable argument against it is that you want it in 'instant action' form.. which really is a problem with your own patience..

Any competative sporting event in the world is organised and timed requiring lots of preparation.. Even spectators to such events must be patient and WAIT for the main feature.

The only Problem I see is that there isnt enough things you can win via PVP.

They should lock entire areas until you pass PVP tests not scrap it, force people to be involved with it... for that is what the game is about, Hence its Title!!!! if you dont like it, go play something else ffs

The Snowman.

Holding the Hall of Heroes is an achievment that only 0.01% of the players are good enough to ever have a chance at. It is the best team playing in the world at that time. For the rest of us, access to the WaW areas is essentially random.

People who are in the Hall of Heroes have to stop whining. Don't be so pompous as to believe you will be the only person from your entire region to enter The Hall, and don't be so selfish as to think you should be given unrestricted access to maps others can't because you're a good PvPer.

They simply need the ghosts to stay for the whole period, so that there is a large window for those entering. The long period it takes to win a Hall battle allows for plenty of people to enter if they need to (I normally only see announcements every half hour or full hour) and it's wrong to believe that you will always be busy when someone from your world wins at The Hall. If anything, you are already halfway through a quest and can go soon, or are in the middle of a PvP match, most of which only last a short time (unless you are going for The Hall yourselves). If you are alone, you can go and get a group in an ample amount of time. If you are grouped with friends, you could all go to ToA at the same time, choosing together whether or not to abandon a quest for the newer ones.
